Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Appetizer
This appetizer is quick to make and delicious. Even better, most of the ingredients will already be in your pantry.
Directions
In a mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the paprika, pepper, brown sugar, onion powder, bay leaf, oregano, thyme, and cayenne. Set aside.

Rinse the shrimp and dry well with paper towels. Add the shrimp to the spice blend and toss to coat completely. Put shrimp into the refrigerator to chill for at least 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, place the slices of Andouille in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Allow them to cook until browned on each side then remove them and set aside.

In the same sauté pan, add the butter and allow it to melt. Then add the shrimp and cook until just done, about 3 minutes.
Skewer one piece of sausage with one shrimp on each toothpick. Serve hot or at room temperature.
